A Thought on Church Attendance... - Bro. Joey

I was recently talking with a teenaged boy who is listed in the roster of my Sunday School class.  This young man hadn't been in church in awhile (not just MBC Newburgh, but any church).  I had run into him at a publc place and recognized him.  We made small talk for a little while before I let him know that I had missed him in Sunday school.  He assured me that he read his Bible every day and prayed consistently.  I encouraged him, telling him I was proud to hear that.  I then brought up the subject of church attendance, and asked him why he hasn't been coming

Late Winter / Early Spring Activities and Notes

I first want to congratulate the MBC teens on winning the "Spirit Award" at Greater Vision Baptist Church's Mid-Winter Youth Conference during this past weekend.  We had a great time, with great preaching, singing, skits, games, giveaways, food, and fellowship!  Thank you to all of the parents who allowed their teen(s) to be apa

A Personal Message from Me - Bro. Joey

Usually, this section is where we advertise and inform about upcoming youth activities.  Today, however, I'd like to do something different.  I want to share a piece of my heart with the MBC teens and their families...

Teen Progressive Dinner - 2011

It's getting close to December! An annual teen activity that we always look forward to is the "Progressive Dinner". For those of you who do not know what a progressive dinner is, we start at one location for a salad, then to another location for an appetizer, then another for the main course, then another for desert (or anything close to that order). So thats one full meal, being provided by 4 different locations, or hosts. This is how we'll do it this year!

Boys' Bonfire

MBC Teenage Boys... Don't forget about the bonfire / weenie roast tonight at 5 PM. It will be on the church property, down at the firepit. Bring your own drinks and Bibles. S'mores and hotdogs will be provided (with all the fixins). We'll enjoy a good time of fire, fellowship, food and fun. We will also be joined by a "special guest" preacher, for a quick challenge from the Word. We'll be done with the activity at about 9:30 or so. Transportation home can be provided if needed. Try to be here!

The MBC Teens will have several things going on this month that we're excitied about! On Thursday, September 15, we will be going bowling! PTL! We recieved a great deal on tickets! However, only a limited number of tickets are available! If you're intereested, please hurry and sign up! The cost is $5 a ticket, and includes a ride to and from the rink, 2 games of bowling, a pair of shoes, a soft drink, and you get to hang out with Bro. Joey and Mrs. Laura!
